Digital Cities

Digital Cities: your municipality connected end to end

We plan and deploy the infrastructure and services that turn your municipality into a digital city: a fiber network connecting public buildings, free Wi-Fi for residents, citizen service on WhatsApp and cloud systems.

The pillars of a digital city

Network infrastructure

A fiber optic ring and radio links connecting city hall, schools, health units and other agencies, with internet and intranet for the whole administration.

  • Network design and deployment
  • Every public building connected
  • Districts and rural areas linked by radio
  • 24/7 monitoring and maintenance

Public Wi-Fi

Free access points in squares, transit terminals, libraries and public buildings, with a city-branded login page and usage control.

  • Access points in high-traffic areas
  • Login page with the municipality's identity
  • Time and speed limits per user
  • Connection logs as required by Brazil's Marco Civil da Internet

Public services on mobile

Citizens book, look up, request and track services from home, on WhatsApp and the city hall website.

  • Official WhatsApp with a menu per department
  • Online ombudsman and reference numbers
  • Notices by SMS and RCS
  • Electronic document signatures

Why invest in a digital city

  • Less red tape

Services that used to require a trip to city hall can be done on the phone.

  • Savings for the municipality

Free calls between units, less paper and less travel.

  • Digital inclusion

Free internet in public places for people without access at home.

  • Transparency

Recorded interactions, trackable requests and indicators for management.

  • A foundation for a smart city

The same network carries connected cameras, sensors, street lighting and traffic lights.

  • In line with the law

Follows Brazil's Digital Government Law (Law 14,129/2021), the LGPD and the Brazilian Charter for Smart Cities.

Frequently asked questions

What is a digital city?

A municipality whose public bodies are connected by their own network, whose residents have internet access in public spaces and whose city hall services can be used online.

Where do we start?

With a free assessment: we survey public buildings, current connectivity and management priorities, and propose a project in stages.

How does the city hall hire Aembi?

Through a public tender, direct contracting or a price registration agreement, under Law 14,133/2021. We provide all technical documentation.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the municipality. We usually start by connecting the main buildings and expand the network and services at each stage.

Is construction work needed?

In most cases, no. Fiber can be installed on existing poles with the power utility's authorization, and the most distant sites are connected by radio.

Who handles maintenance?

Aembi, with 24/7 network monitoring and toll-free support.
